Meet Your Newest Obsession

Find out more about the characters you’re going to cry, mourn, dance and love with in The Faerie King. Meet the God of Death and Darkness, a Faerie King, the Queen of the Jinns, and a human girl who has to navigate them all if she has any hopes of survival.

Elysia

Elysia

Rejected by her town and raised in a house full of secrets, Elysia turns to a little boy she finds in the forest—one with goat’s horns and wandering fingers. She wants him right up until the day he kidnaps her, stealing her away to a kingdom hidden in a portal in a Devonshire forest. Join Elysia as she learns who to trust and comes to terms with the darkness inside her—for better or worse.

Dae

What kind of fantasy romance book would be complete without a vicious, lying morally grey villain—one who confuses and torments our MC. Left to govern a kingdom from a young age and raised by a psychopathic Jinn, Dae has a lot of tough decisions to make. How many of them he’ll regret is a question only he can answer, but maybe, he’ll get to savour a taste of what he really desires along the way.

Dae | The Faerie King
Obi

Obi

When Obi’s drunk Mum trades him to a hag for a bottle of wine, he gives up all hope of ever escaping Faerieland. That is, right up until Elysia gets there and starts filling his head with hope. But if there’s one thing Obi’s always known, it’s that escape is dangerous. Especially when the King of Faerieland has his eyes on you and your friend. As Obi struggles to stop eating faerie fruit, will he make it out in time to explore what he and Elysia have, or will he be eaten alive like everyone else in the Faerie Kingdom?

Shiva

No one really knows how Shiva got to Faerieland. Rumour has it, life on earth was so bad she actually agreed to come, but that’s impossible to confirm, because Shiva covers every track. Which makes her the perfect friend to join Elysia’s escape team. Having spent the first two years in Faerieland being whipped for refusing to eat the fruit, Shiva’s developed a bit of a reputation—one that has the rest of the human slaves avoiding her, even if she is the only person who makes deals with the Jinn to save their arses time and time again—the only one sober enough to see the really toll Faerieland has on its residents.

Shiva
Abnehor | Prince of the Jinn

Abnehor

It wasn’t really an obsession anyone could have predicted. An evil prince, cousin to the Queen of the Jinns, developing an odd, unhealthy obsession with a human girl; so much so that he lets her scream and shout and rage at him in the middle of court. Constantly. With a penchant for burning and flaying people alive, Abnehor sits atop a swirling purple mass and has eyes for no one but Shiva. Whatever deals they make are a secret, but they’re sure to be as vicious as he is cruel.

Kaya

Perfect Kaya. Perfect hair, perfect nails, perfect beautiful emerald wings sprouting from her stupid perfect back. If Elysia could scar up Kaya’s annoying perfect face, she would, not that it would matter anyway, as a shapeshifting Jinn, Kaya can take on any form she likes, and she’s chosen one that Dae clearly, clearly likes too. Will she ever keep her stupid claws off Elysia’s guardian angel or will she wake up one morning and find that her perfect wings have been ripped off?

Kaya
Dabria | God of Death & Darkness

Dabria

Wandering the streets of London as a homeless addict is the last place you’d expect to find the God of Death. But, that’s exactly where Elysia finds Dabria. Having lost all her powers, confidence, and courage, things go from bad to worse for the once formidable keeper of darkness. Can Dabria gain her confidence and powers back in time to save Callacombe (home of the pixies) before her darkness engulfs it? And more importantly, can she find her best friend Libitina before she dies of yearning?

Libitina

One of those creepy dolls only disturbed little girls pick up—the God of Burials is…eerie. Odd. Downright weird. Not that Dabria seems to notice. The smell of embalming fluid lingers everywhere Libitina goes—Dabria’s favourite smell. Whenever Dabria ends a life, Libitina is there to treat and care for the body. That is, until Azaloth, the God of Light and Day begins a crusade against everyone Dabria loves (all two of them) and Libitina has to flee her home and her friend. Will they find their way back to each other again—and will they ever admit their feelings for each other?
